Dennis Quaid was born April 9, 1954 in Houston, Texas. He worked as an amusement-park clown and a singing waiter before making his film debut in September 30, 1955 (1978). Quaid was involved in many movies before reaching leading man status, which he did playing astronaut Gordon Cooper in the 1983 film The Right Stuff. He met his wife, Meg Ryan, while costarring with her in Innerspace (1987); they were reteamed in D.O.A (1988). He has starred in comedies, dramas and period-historical films, such as Wyatt Earp. Also a musician, Quaid performs with his band, "The Eclectics," whenever his schedule allows.
