his niche in the 1940's and starring as James Butler Hickock in the
television series "The Adventures of Wild Bill Hickock", from
1951-1958. A radio version of the show aired on the Mutual network
from 1951-1956. Mr. Madison portrayed the handsome James Butler
Hickock in these series. It was the beginning of his work on
popular series about historic frontier figures such as Daniel
Boone, Davy Crockett, and Kit Carson.
