After her retirement from modeling she gained wider fame when she married rock innovator David Bowie in 1992. Iman owns a cosmetics company and, like Bowie, takes occasional roles in films, including L.A. Story (1991, starring Steve Martin), Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country (1991, starring William Shatner) and Exit to Eden (1994, with Rosie O'Donnell).
