Joanna Cassidy was born Haddonfield, New Jersey. She received critical plaudits as the gutsy reporter in Under Fire (1983) and the world-weary barmaid in Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988). Cassidy's other films include The Stepford Wives (1975), The Late Show (1977), Stay Hungry (1976), Club Paradise (1986), and The Package (1989); she's fondly remembered as the snakecharming stripper in Blade Runner (1982). She has also been a regular on several TV series, most effectively as Dabney Coleman's long-suffering girlfriend on "Buffalo Bill" (1983-84; ironically, in 1990 she played his wife in Where the Heart Is). She got one of her best latter-day parts as the wife of American Express honcho James Robinson (played by Fred Dalton Thompson) in Barbarians at the Gate (1993 telefilm).
