Michael J. Fox was born June 9, 1961 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Who would have guessed that this sitcom star would replicate his TV success on the big screen. He'd appeared in films before achieving success on televiosn as Alex P. Keaton on the sitcom "Family Ties" (1982-89). Fox shot to immediate stardom and won three consecutive Emmy awards. Amazingly, this success transferred almost as quickly to film when he was selected to replace Eric Stoltz (midway into production) as time-traveler Marty McFly in the Steven Spielberg production Back to the Future (1985), reprising the role in two sequels, which were shot back-to back. In the 1990s, he returned to televiosn sitcoms in the hit show “Spin City.” Unfortunately, he left the show in 2000 because of Parkinson’s Disease.Fox is married to actress Tracey Pollan who played his girlfriend on "Family Ties." They have three children together.
