Rick Schroder was born April 13, 1970 in Staten Island, New York. He has been acting since he was young, starring in the sitcom Silver Spoons. He has since made appearances in film and television. Schroder was absent from "NYPD Blue" May, 2001 season finale, and later announced he would not return to show cast because he wants to devote time to his growing family, with fourth child due in August. He is married to Andrea Bernard. They have two sons, Holden Richard, named after actor William Holden whom Rick co-stared with in The Earthling, and Luke William and a Daughter, Cambriean and another on the way. He built his own 2500 square foot log cabin on his ranch during the summer of 1998. He is a member of the N.R.A. and spoke at the Republican National Convention in honor of George W. Bush.
